Contrasting modalities like barefoot running, Pilates, Zumba, and Crossfit flourish. The elite Equinox gym launched an entire program entitled “Conscious Movement”. My colleagues in movement medicine are reframing what, why, where, and how we exercise. Although I usually eschew dualistic thinking, it’s fascinating to contrast the old and emerging paradigms: What other qualities could I list? What form of conscious movement do you practice?
